Contempt:Live!
The how and why of it...
Since the organization was founded in 1998, Contempt has dedicated
itself to helping NYC's Goth and Industrial scene thrive. This includes encouraging
local bands, mostly by spinning their music on the dance floor and doing our
best to get their names out to the public. Now, thanks to your support of
our dance parties, we're able to help the bands even more by providing a venue
for them to strut their stuff.
Our mission also includes finding new ways to bring our scene together, so Contempt: LIVE will wander into new territory-Happy Hour. We've got all the trimmings: cheap drinks, a DJ playing your favorite music, live bands, and all your Contemptible friends in a "come as you are" atmosphere. Have all the fun you want and still be home before bedtime.
Like all Contempt events, Contempt: LIVE will be operated for the scene, by the scene, with a volunteer crew. Any door charge will be going to the bands, to help support and promote their creative endeavors. So come on out, have a good time, and don't forget to clap for the bands. We hope to see you there.
